PETRA'S COSTUME GALLERY

I cannot recall when Petra was created exactly in 2000, but she was among the earlier RGs put on paper, because I needed a character with an edge to balance Rowan. Petra certainly has that, and is quite cold as well, being put to work in an atmosphere of global tensions. She is one of the good guys, but takes a while to gain the trust and acceptance of her sisters, especially after some rather spectacular and later disastrous exploits. (Curiousity piqued? Good!) Thus, in terms of costumes, she has a mixed bag wardrobe and colour scheme, to show her in transition. A couple of factors, like the general tightness/sleekness of the clothes, and the general use of cool or dark colours stand out to me when looking at the clothes in this gallery. The use of red is sparing, reserved for more formal outfits like the oriental dress and the street clothes. The battle armour was going to be red, but was changed to black so I could bring out the glowing bits better. The Six motif that appears on some of the clothes denotes she is the first Series Six model, the prototype. The blue hair was my choice, to reflect the cooler nature of her personality. It was not meant as an homage to Rei Ayanami from NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, although I am sure some may make that assumption. I did not start watching NGE until long after Petra was created. However, now having gone through the whole series, (save for the films), I would like to mention they would probably hit it off reasonably well, sitting silently and driving Asuka Langley Soryu to distraction.
