SUPPORTING CHARACTERS
The supporting characters help move along the stories and provide foils to the girls as they have their adventures. I have a range of types, from geeky kids to rough-diamond ship captains, to young female technophiles, to faded Pickets, nasty bureaucrats and aliens (which I try not to get confused). The twins are couriers, and are quite mad. Think Radical Edward times two... The Thiirian warrior is a lot of fun, having no eyes, but not missing anything. I even have an ace reporter who can be the Watson to the RGs' Holmes, Eliza Montclair, who will provide the narrative framework in a number of the stories, when the Pickets themselves are not telling the tales.
Miranda is the newest addition to the Picket family, and is gradually getting a gallery of her own as I begin new work. She is the mysterious missing sister between Virginia and Molly, (for those of you who paid attention to the serial numbers assigned the Pickets). She was modelled with life underwater in mind, and will not appear often in the stories because it really doesn't make a lot of sense to have an underwater Picket called a Kaiten Angel- despite what I put in the label of the piece. She does make an appearance in the first story, called "Naomi and the Orleans Mine", which I wrote in 2004. (As a sidebar, Miranda is very shapely, but I do not consider her to be nude in this image any more than I would think of a dolphin as being such. She has very shiny skin, like a fish, and her armour matches in texture, giving her a chrome streamlined appearance, with no forms broken by clunky uniforms. Yet you may also notice that anatomical details are not really visible. The first images were done in Poser with post work done in Photopaint. The most recent is done in Bryce, with the skin-tight uniform done in a chrome fill.) Miranda also has the distinction of being the first Rocket Girl built from the ground up inside the computer. The times...they are a changin'...
